The Aga Khan Education Board Summer School 2025 Program is accepting applications from qualified teachers for paid teaching positions this summer. This program focuses on literacy and mathematics for newcomer students currently in Grades 1 through 12. The curriculum will focus on Primary, Junior, and Intermediate level activities, complemented by enrichment opportunities designed to enhance student learning, foster interest, and build self-confidence.

About the Program

The Summer School program focuses on literacy and mathematics for newcomer students currently in Grades 1 through 12. The curriculum will focus on Primary, Junior, and Intermediate level activities, complemented by enrichment opportunities designed to enhance student learning, foster interest, and build self-confidence.

About the Role

Curriculum and instructional materials will be provided by the Aga Khan Education Board and reviewed during a mandatory virtual planning session. Hiring will be based on student enrollment. Grade levels and locations may be adjusted based on registration numbers and programmatic needs. Scheduling and program hours will be determined by individual centres.

About You

Applicants must possess appropriate teaching qualifications (primary or secondary qualifications).

The successful candidate will be responsible for :

  • Leading the delivery of the summer program in coordination with the local Aga Khan Education Board
  • Implementing the provided curriculum and lesson plans in a collaborative manner
  • Supporting and modeling effective literacy and numeracy strategies, including co-teaching where appropriate
  • Assisting with the implementation of targeted intervention strategies for students
  • Fostering collaboration among team members, volunteers, and community partners
  • Engaging students through innovative and responsive instructional practices
  • Collaborating with the local Aga Khan Education Board Chair, Summer School Lead, and National Aga Khan Education Board Lead
  • Welcoming and engaging parents as partners in the learning process
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Program Dates : July 7 to August 15, 2025

Block A : July 7 – July 25, 2025 (3 Weeks)

  • Block B : July 28 – August 15, 2025 (3 Weeks)

  • British Columbia : Tri-City Jamatkhana, Fraser Valley Jamatkhana
  • Edmonton : Edmonton Headquarters Jamatkhana
  • Prairies : Calgary Westwinds Jamatkhana
