Labourer/Truck Driver
(Internal/External - Term)
The Town of Deep River is currently seeking a candidate to fill a term position of Labourer/Truck Driver with the Public Works Department for a period of twelve (12) months subject to extension or cancellation. The position of labourer/truck driver will be involved with a variety of construction, maintenance, and road repair services, infrastructure and property with a focus on safety.
Qualifications required include an Ontario Class “G" driver's licence or Class “DZ” licence considered an asset, with a good driving record, Ontario Grade 12 or equivalent, with post-secondary training in good-roads-related courses considered an asset. Must have Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a demonstrated ability to work independently, an excellent safety record, the ability to meet physical demands of the position, general knowledge of machinery for maintenance purposes and familiarity & competence in the operation of hand and power tools.
Compensation for this position will be $26.17 in accordance with the CUPE 740 Collective agreement with the potential for comprehensive benefits in accordance with the Collective Agreement. This is a union position represented by the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 740.
