This position is for you if you value a kind approach to clients and colleagues and a collaborative working environment. We serve our community best by reflecting its diversity. We welcome applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and lived experiences, and from members of groups that are underrepresented in the legal industry.

Our Ideal Teammate

To fit in here, you need to be a “people person” (introvert or extrovert is fine) with high emotional intelligence and fundamental respect for coworkers, clients and others in our community.

Your Skills

To excel in this role, you should have:

• A collaborative approach, working with lawyers and clients to develop legal strategies and solutions.

• Experience interacting respectfully with a diverse population, including fielding inquiries and gathering information.

• A curious nature, drive to take initiative, think things through and share your ideas.

• Proficiency with legal research tools..

• Solid tech skills, including advanced skills in MS Office and experience working with document management systems (NetDocs is an asset).

Compensation & Location

Assuming full time work, our salary range is $120,000 to $200,000, which can be prorated for part time, plus

Forte Law’s main office is in South Surrey, and we also have offices in Vancouver and Calgary. We have proven,

flexible work arrangements including hybrid and remote work. We also provide group benefits coverage,

What to Expect from Us

• Equity & Respect. We value each team member’s contributions and have a culture of autonomy and collaboration.

• Community & Giving. We support our team to give back through volunteer work.

• Inclusion. We are committed to making our practice inclusive, equitable, and accessible - for our team and also for our clients and those impacted by and involved in our work.

• Sustainable work. We believe that lawyers should have control over their practices and their lives. It is life-work balance here, not work-life. We do our best work for our clients when we can decide how much work to take on, and what type of files will be our focus.

• Flexibility. We have lawyers working successfully in a variety of arrangements – full-time, part-time, and remote work are all proven options. Our lawyers set their own schedules.

Email your cover letter and resume and list of your reported decisions (if any) to info@fortelaw.ca with the

subject line “Lawyer Candidate”. Please include in your cover letter or separately your litigation record

(reported and unreported) and a summary of the types of files you have worked on and your level of autonomy

over those files.
