We are seeking a dedicated Employment and Labour Law Paralegal to join our team, utilizing your expertise in conducting research, organizing case files related to labor disputes, terminations, discrimination, health and safety issues, and workers' compensation. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to draft legal correspondence, assist with preparing legal briefs and documents, interview employees or witnesses, and gather information from third parties as needed. Additionally, your strong analytical skills will support conducting due diligence research, monitoring provincial employment law developments affecting organizational policies, preparing regulatory filings, and conducting data analysis to support management and business needs. Familiarity with the HRTO, WSIB, MOL, arbitration, and collective bargaining procedures is preferred.

Qualifications include:

  • A Post-Secondary Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in a relevant field, along with a designation such as CHRP or a relevant legal designation (lawyer or paralegal). A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • At least three years of experience in HR compliance and case management.
  • At least three years of experience in employment and labour law.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, developments, and employment-related laws in Ontario and Quebec.
  • Proficiency in basic statistical math and creating formulas within Microsoft Excel or similar systems for data analysis.
  • The ability to obtain or hold a Secret level Security Clearance.
