Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide client assistance and support by acting as the first point of contact for clients (job seekers, employers, and the general public) at the Employment Resource Centre in Corner Brook.
  • Work with individuals to determine preliminary eligibility and appropriate level of service.
  • Provide general information about job search resources, employment programs, and training opportunities.
  • Guide clients using self-service resources such as job boards, computers, and application forms.
  • Research, update, and document labour market opportunities to ensure up-to-date labour market information is available.
  • Implement efficient information management practices, including file and records management, while ensuring compliance with ATIPPA requirements.
  • Perform administrative duties such as managing office supplies, answering calls, emails, inquiries, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
Screening Criteria
  • Diploma in Office or Business Administration (equivalencies considered).
  • Experience in a similar administrative role providing front-line services.
Assessment Criteria
  • Knowledge of office procedures, customer service principles, and best practices in front-line settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Client-focused with a commitment to exceptional service.
  • Organizational skills for coordinating services and administrative activities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to develop working relationships.
Conditions of Offer
  • A recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct may be required upon request.

  • Location: Corner Brook’s Millbrook Mall Office.
