We are hiring a Permanent Full-time Employment Counsellor based in Hamilton.

Key Job Functions

• Demonstrate knowledge of our services, program eligibility, and how we support individual job seekers.
• Achieve performance goals by prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
• Build strong relationships with community stakeholders to generate client referrals.
• Conduct comprehensive client assessments to evaluate employment-related strengths and needs.
• Develop personalized Employment Action Plans with clients for long-term job stability.
• Provide ongoing support, including career counseling, job search training, and skill-building, both face-to-face and virtually.
• Prepare clients for interviews through tailored 1 : 1 coaching and mock sessions.
• Support clients in job matching and advocate for their employment opportunities.
• Facilitate workshops on Resume Writing, Cover Letters, Job Search Strategies, and Interview Preparation, and support clients into the retention program.
• Assist clients in accessing community resources and monitor referrals.
• Identify and arrange necessary accommodations and resources for employment sustainability.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and respect in all interactions.
• Stay informed about labor market trends and opportunities.
• Assess and facilitate Job Seeker Financial Supports for skill development.
• Collaborate with clients on career development and monitor progress during employment trials and placements.
• Work with supervisors to meet targets related to job placements, client satisfaction, and financial supports.
• Document progress and case notes accurately and complete administrative tasks efficiently.
• Perform other duties as required.
