Kootenay Employment Services Society is hiring an Employment Consultant / Job Coach to facilitate workshops and provide employment counseling in a supportive environment. This role involves building strong relationships with clients and local employers, promoting career advancement, and delivering services that make a meaningful difference in the community. Requirements Requirements:
Experience providing client support in employment services or a related social service field. Degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling, education, or human resources management) will be viewed as an asset
Valid BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle
A clean criminal record check for the vulnerable sector
Self-motivated, confident, and able to work independently and make decisions
Experience in facilitation will be highly regarded
Experience working with diverse and highly barriered client groups
Excellent conflict management skills and strong ability to work well under pressure
Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and electronic
Innovative and solution-oriented working style
Strong active listening, motivational, and coaching skills
Sensitivity to employer and job-seeker confidentiality and ability to adhere to privacy and security regulations and protocols
Familiarity with local job market trends, community resources, and government programs as well as basic job search strategies is an asset, however on the job training is also provided

Kootenay Employment Services (KES) is seeking an Employment Consultant / Job Coach to join our program team. This role involves providing facilitation and employment counselling support to clients both group and 1:1.
Position Purpose: The Employment Consultant/Job Coach plays a vital role within our Employment Programs team, dedicated to helping clients secure meaningful, long-term employment and supporting employers in fostering professional development opportunities. In this role, you will build strong, collaborative relationships with clients, providing encouragement, motivation, and personalized guidance throughout their employment journey. You will also lead both individual and group workshops for clients and employers, equipping participants with valuable skills, promoting career advancement, and driving measurable outcomes in workplace success

Key responsibilities:
Oversee participant recruitment and selection, and meet with clients to assess their employment needs, set goals, and build an action plan
Deliver workshops to participants, community, employers and if needed, groups
Creation of workshop material as needed
Advocacy of clients with barriers and education to employers on inclusive hiring practices
Establish and maintain positive, constructive working relationships with a diverse network of local employers
Management of record keeping and reporting
Meet and exceed contractually obligated targets
Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the department
