Qualifications

  • Expérience dans la prestation de services d'emploi ou services sociaux.
  • Titulaire d'un permis de conduire valide de la Colombie-Britannique.

Job description

Requirements:

  1. Experience providing client support in employment services or related social service fields.
  2. Degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling, education, or human resources management) is an asset.
  3. Valid BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  4. A clean criminal record check for the vulnerable sector.
  5. Self-motivated, confident, able to work independently, and make decisions.
  6. Experience in facilitation is highly regarded.
  7. Experience working with diverse and highly barriered client groups.
  8. Excellent conflict management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  9. Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
  10. Innovative, solution-oriented working style.
  11. Strong active listening, motivational, and coaching skills.
  12. Sensitivity to confidentiality and adherence to privacy and security regulations.
  13. Familiarity with local job market trends, community resources, government programs, and basic job search strategies is an asset; on-the-job training is provided.

Duties:

KES seeks an Employment Consultant / Job Coach to provide facilitation and employment counseling support to clients in group and one-on-one settings. The role involves building strong relationships, motivating clients, leading workshops, and supporting employers in inclusive hiring practices.

About you:

  • Strong communicator who enjoys working directly with clients.
  • Critical thinker, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Technologically literate and familiar with administrative tasks.
  • Passionate about providing access to meaningful employment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Recruit and assess participants, set goals, and develop action plans.
  • Deliver and create workshops for clients, community, and employers.
  • Advocate for clients with barriers and educate employers on inclusive practices.
  • Maintain positive relationships with local employers.
  • Manage record keeping and reporting.
  • Achieve contractual targets and collaborate with team members.
