Job summary

Prospect is seeking an Employer Liaison to connect clients to sustainable careers within our Calgary employment support programs. You will bridge the gap between client services and employer partners, coordinating opportunities and accommodations as needed.

You will develop employer partnerships, perform outreach, and support job fairs and events, while collaborating with Career Advisors and Workforce teams.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Related experience in full cycle recruitment, HR and business development is preferred.
  • Understanding of current employment opportunities and labour market trends.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Exemplary verbal communication with strong business writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively connect and build rapport with decision makers.
  • Familiarity with Alberta labour market and diversity/inclusion initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support employment placement by partnering with Career Advisors to secure opportunities for candidates.
  • Help identify client job targets and inform employer outreach.
  • Research worksites for suitability based on client skills and goals.
  • Coordinate with employers to discuss accommodations and retention support.
  • Develop long-lasting partnerships with employers to enable multiple placements.

  • Assist in planning and conducting job fairs and other delivery events.

As the Employer Liaison, you’ll be vital in bridging the gap between our client services team and Prospect’s employer partners. What will you do?
Employment Placement Support
  • Work in partnership with Career Advisors across programs to secure employment opportunities for candidates from a variety of demographics.
  • Work closely with Career Advisor teams to identify client job targets and skill sets to help inform new employer partner outreach.
  • Assess potential worksites for suitability through research centered around job availability and alignment with client skills, qualifications and goals.
  • Conduct job search based on client job targets; work in partnership with the employer wherever possible to explore workplace accommodations on a case‑by‑case basis including modified work arrangements, implementation of assistive tools or technology, and coordination of client retention support services.
Business Development
  • Create long lasting partnerships with employers to enable multiple placement opportunities for clients.
  • Conduct employer outreach activities such as cold calls, emails, worksite visits and informational meetings with potential employers based on our business development model.
  • Promote overall services we offer to Employers, including direct connection to candidates, hiring events, employer education events, and training.
  • Work closely with Workforce Advisor team to assist in planning and conducting Job Fairs and other Delivery events (i.e., search venues, select speakers, coordinate accessibility requirements, build marketing material, utilize social media and community partners, as well as other event logistics.
  • Work with employers to solve workforce shortfalls by educating them on how to access, recruit and retain skilled labour within and outside of traditional labour pools.
  • Represent Prospect at career fairs, trade shows, hiring events, and other events as required.
Administration/Other
  • Maintains accurate and up to date information in the CRM database of employers including notes on service delivery, and expected next steps for accurate reporting, as required.
  • As needed, participate in client facing services such as workshops, essential skill building, and job clubs.
  • Complies with company policies/procedures, provincial, privacy and other job related legislation.
  • Champions Prospect’s goals, vision, mission and brand pillars.
What does it take to do this job?
  • Post‑secondary education is preferred.
  • Related experience with full cycle recruitment, Human Resources, and business development experience is preferred (an equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered).
  • Understanding of current employment opportunities and labour market trends.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel); previous experience in other sales applications (CRM, record keeping) are considered assets.
  • Exemplary verbal communication with strong business writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively connect and build rapport with decision makers.
  • Comfortable continually developing knowledge and familiarity with the Alberta labour market.
  • Comfortable with internet research, social media applications, various presentation software/programs and related presentation equipment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to present ideas and/or services to individuals and groups.
  • Knowledge of working with underrepresented groups, including people with disabilities, mental health barriers, newcomers, and youth.
  • Highly professional, driven, charismatic, reliable, and confident individual who thrives under pressure.
  • Exposure to diversity and inclusion programs is an asset.
