About the role:

As an Employee Relations Specialist – Leave of Absence, you will play a key role within our People Services (HR) team, with a primary focus on managing leave of absence programs and accommodations. This is an opportunity to use your expertise in compliance, employee support, and process improvement to ensure a seamless and thoughtful experience for employees navigating leave.

  • Lead leave administration : Manage all aspects of the leave of absence program, ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable legislation across regions.

  • Drive continuous process improvement : Liaise with cross-functional teams and external vendors to streamline processes, enhance communication, and control financial impact of leaves.

  • Assist with disability and return-to-work coordination : Oversee disability program in partnership with third-party administrators and collaborate on accommodation planning and return-to-work strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders : Work with Employee Relations, Legal, and HR Business Partners to interpret legislation, coordinate solutions, and manage confidential cases.

  • Educate and support employees and leaders : Provide guidance on LOA policies and ensure understanding at all levels of the organization through regular communication and training.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in : Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field—or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience : in leave administration with working knowledge of benefit and employment laws

  • Proven experience in : managing LOA programs, disability administration, and interpreting HR-related legislation ( preferred knowledge of FMLA, ADA and COBRA legislation in the US ).

  • Strong proficiency in : HR systems (Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Exceptional communication and judgment : Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism, empathy, and organizational skill.

Approximate Salary Range for Role: $66,203 to $89,000

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
