Overview

The Employee Benefits Consultant is responsible for driving revenue growth by building and maintaining valuable relationships with prospects and clients. This is delivered by consulting with clients in the areas of employee benefits, compensation, retirement solutions and other associated human capital needs. How you'll make an impact

  • Your primary accountability will be to develop and acquire new business revenue through sales to new and existing clients with emphasis on mid to large-sized companies with high revenue
  • Participating in team sales situations with other producers, service and support personnel
  • Developing a pipeline of business opportunities that are an appropriate mix of new clients and existing account expansion
  • Introducing Gallagher’s full-service offering to broaden the scope and impact of client relationships
  • Assisting, educating and mentoring other staff members in new client sales situations and existing client service requirements
  • You will convey deep technical expertise and business insight in helping clients evaluate opportunities to reduce costs, risks and improve the overall competitiveness of benefits, retirement and HR services
  • Constantly stay ahead of industry, market and legislative trends that impact health & welfare plan design, delivery and compliance
  • With assistance from colleagues, develop proposals that are fiscally sound, reflect an appropriate investment in the client, and demonstrate the overall capabilities of Gallagher
  • Establishing and maintaining inter-division/inter-company relationships consistent with our culture

About you

  • Significant consultative B2B sales experience
  • Shown success in developing new business as well as maintaining an existing customer base
  • Experience in the benefits industry
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years related experience; OR High School Diploma/GED required and 10 or more years’ experience, or commensurate experience
  • Acts independently with minimal direction
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team selling environment
  • Results oriented
  • A real passion for building relationships and collaborating toward success
  • A master communicator
