The ideal candidate will have a degree in Chemical Engineering and over 5 years of experience in the industry, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively. Qualifications

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in downstream oil and gas industry.
  • Experience with Federal and Provincial Greenhouse Gas reporting programs is an asset.
  • EIT or P.Eng. designation or immediate eligibility in New Brunswick.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical calculations to support energy transition initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project execution teams.
  • Direct and approve work of 3rd party consultants and contractors.
  • Support emissions monitoring and tracking as per the GHG protocol.
  • Develop and implement the Inventory Management Plan (IMP).

As an Emissions Reporting Engineer you will work with the Program Delivery Office teams with a primary focus on the company’s greenhouse gas emission inventory and supporting energy transition and growth opportunities. Your goal will be to assist with quantifying benefits for forecasting future projects and energy transition opportunities as well as the emissions reporting and tracking for the company. Your success will depend on using your experience and judgment to plan and accomplish deliverables in a well-defined supervised environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Performing technical calculations utilizing federal and provincial regulatory requirements to ensure benefits are captured for energy transition initiatives

  • Collaboration with Front End and other Engineering Services disciplines, Process Engineering, Refinery Technical, and Project Execution Teams

  • Facilitate project work and studies with 3rd party consultants, technology licensors and engineering contractors. Direct, review and approve their work and deliverables

  • Support inventory management plan for companies emissions monitoring and tracking following the GHG protocol and jurisdictional requirements

  • Assist with further development and implementation of Inventory Management Plan (IMP) including the complete understanding on Scope 3 emissions

Your Skills:

  • Good understanding of refinery operations as related to capital project work

  • Open to receiving coaching and mentoring at junior and intermediate levels

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in coordinating, leading, and directing other employees and project members

  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision / direction and apply sound engineering judgement on technical matters

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Your Experience:

  • University degree in Chemical Engineering with EIT or P.Eng. designation (or immediate eligibility) in New Brunswick is required

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably in downstream oil and gas industry

  • Experience with Federal and Provincial Greenhouse Gas reporting programs is an asset
