Qualifications

  • Minimum of Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response & Rescue or Certificate III in Public Safety.
  • Western Australian HR Driver’s Licence required.
  • Previous experience in emergency response and incident management preferred.

Location: Eliwana - Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people (PKKP)

Roster: 8D6R7N7R FIFO ex Perth

Our Emergency Services Officers are response team members for all emergency incidents on site, and they are to assist with the day to day running of the emergency services and medical team. Emergency Services Officers are also required to ensure that site based and corporate policies, procedures, and plans in relation to emergency management, security management, and medical management are complied with at all times.

You will be responsible for providing leadership and training services to the ERT and site departments and responding to onsite emergencies whilst maintaining a state of operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment preparedness including compliance inspections and reporting
  • Conduct of site fitness for work requirements in accordance with site and company alcohol and other drugs (AOD) policies
  • Plan, co-ordinate, and participate in site emergency drills
  • To provide medical services and ensure medical facilities are maintained in an operationally ready status
  • Maintain a level of fitness required to perform the job role as dictated by the company
Qualifications and Experience
  • Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response & Rescue or Certificate III in Public Safety (Fire Fighting and Emergency Operations)
  • Cert IV in Health Care as a minimum. (Diploma or Degree would be advantageous)
  • Including as a minimum Rope rescue, Road Crash Rescue, Firefighting, Confined Space Rescue, Breathing Apparatus (Open Circuit), Hazmat
  • Western Australian HR Driver’s Licence
  • Certificate IV in WHS and/or Training and Assessment (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in emergency response and incident control/incident management
