Job Description

General Summary : Lead Security, Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Response activities to ensure the safety and security of all TBCA team members, facilities, assets, and products across multiple sites.

  • Essential Job Functions :
  • Lead audits of site security, evaluate effectiveness, and develop improvement plans.
  • Create and maintain the Emergency Response Program, including Spill Procedures, Fire & Life Safety, Evacuation, Severe Weather protocols, etc.
  • Support testing and inspections of security equipment and building systems.
  • Lead fire safety initiatives to prevent fires and ensure safety measures are in place.
  • Manage emergency drills, hold reflection meetings, and implement improvements.
  • Oversee Contractor and Visitor management procedures, including work package creation, training, auditing, and performance evaluation regarding health and safety.
  • Evaluate and improve medical emergency response protocols.
  • Develop and maintain Emergency Preparedness initiatives, including Emergency Operations Control and assessments.
  • Coordinate New Model Launch activities within scope, collaborating with Engineering to ensure contractor compliance during construction and large projects.
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of business units to optimize security and emergency response systems for the safety of all team members.
  • Participate in cross-functional training and be adaptable to learn new skills.

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements :

  • Post-secondary education in OHS, HR, Security, Engineering, or relevant experience.
  • Over 2 years of experience in OHS, Emergency Response, or Security roles.
  • Over 1 year of experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of OHSA, CSA, and relevant Ontario regulations.

Personal / Technical Skills :

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to train and collaborate with contractors and visitors.
  • Knowledge of Toyota Production System and waste reduction techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute projects.
  • Self-motivated team player with attention to detail.

Language Skills :

  • Excellent verbal and written English skills.
  • Additional languages such as Japanese, Arabic, or Spanish are assets.

Computer / Software :

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related applications.

Work Environment / Conditions :

  • Office and shop floor environments with moderate to high noise levels.
  • Use of PPE required in certain areas.
  • Willingness to travel between facilities in Woodstock and Elmira.

Physical Demands :

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, see, hear, walk, sit, stand, and lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
