Job summary

Ambipar Response Canada is seeking an Emergency Response Technician based out of Edmonton, AB. The role involves responding to emergencies to protect people, the environment and property, with duties spanning confined space rescue, fire and hazmat work, and remote-site medical support.

You will work a demanding schedule including after-hours availability, participate in regular training, and contribute to a dynamic team delivering critical environmental and emergency services.

Qualifications

• Emergency response experience preferred (1 year).

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies to protect people, environment and property.
• Work on confined space rescue, heights, and inspect/maintain rescue equipment.
• Handle fire-related jobs including wildland, ensure equipment is ready for deployment.
• Work on hazmat, chemical transfer, spill containment and remediation.
• Assist in medical-related work in remote locations and ensure equipment is ready for deployment.
• Collaborate with team in shop or on site; attend worksite meetings and regular training.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Ambipar is currently seeking an Emergency Response Technician based out of Edmonton, AB.

RESPONSIBILITIES AT HAND / WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL CONSIST OF

• Working an emergency response schedule, including after hours availability.
• Respond to emergency situations to protect people, the environment, and property from all types of accidents and emergencies.
• Working on confined space rescue related jobs, working at heights as required, and ensure rescue equipment is inspected, maintained and ready for deployment.
• Working on fire related jobs including wildland, working in remote locations, and ensure fire equipment is inspected, maintained, and ready for deployment.
• Working on hazmat related jobs, chemical transfer and packaging, spill containment and remediation, and ensure equipment is inspected, maintained, and ready for deployment.
• Working on medical related jobs, working in remote locations, and ensure medical equipment is inspected, maintained, and ready to deployment.
• Work within a team environment to complete daily task in the shop and/or on site.
• Attend and participate in internal and external worksite meetings.
• Attend and participate in regular training.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Emergency Response: 1 year (preferred)

• Valid class 5 driver's license with 6 or less demerits(required)
• Confined Space Rescue Certified
• EMR Level Medical Training
• H2S Alive
• NFPA 1001 or NFPA 1081
• NFPA 1051

• Swiftwater Rescue

SCHEDULE

• Monday-Friday office hours (14 days on/7 days off)
• On-call 24/7/365 unless scheduled off
• Day shift
• Night shift
