Job summary

Ambipar Response Canada is seeking an Emergency Response Technician based out of Edmonton, AB, to respond to incidents and protect people and the environment. The role includes rescue operations, fire and hazmat work, and medical support in remote locations, with a team-focused on-site and shop-based workload.

You will participate in regular training, attend meetings, and work a schedule that includes after-hours coverage and on-call duty, contributing to a dynamic safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year Emergency Response experience is preferred.
• Valid class 5 driver's license with 6 or fewer demerits is required.
• Confined Space Rescue certification is preferred.
• EMR Level Medical Training is desirable.
• H2S Alive is required.
• NFPA 1001, NFPA 1081, NFPA 1051, NFPA 1006, NFPA 1072 are preferred.
• Swiftwater Rescue certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies to protect people, environment, and property.
• Perform confined space rescue tasks and work at heights as needed.
• Handle fire-related duties including wildland and remote locations.
• Address hazmat, chemical transfer, spill containment, and remediation.
• Support medical-related jobs in remote locations and ensure equipment is ready.
• Work in a team to complete daily shop or on-site tasks.
• Attend internal and external worksite meetings.
• Participate in regular training sessions.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Ambipar is currently seeking an Emergency Response Technician based out of Edmonton, AB.

RESPONSIBILITIES AT HAND / WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL CONSIST OF

• Working an emergency response schedule, including after hours availability.
• Respond to emergency situations to protect people, the environment, and property from all types of accidents and emergencies.
• Working on confined space rescue related jobs, working at heights as required, and ensure rescue equipment is inspected, maintained and ready for deployment.
• Working on fire related jobs including wildland, working in remote locations, and ensure fire equipment is inspected, maintained, and ready for deployment.
• Working on hazmat related jobs, chemical transfer and packaging, spill containment and remediation, and ensure equipment is inspected, maintained, and ready for deployment.
• Working on medical related jobs, working in remote locations, and ensure medical equipment is inspected, maintained, and ready to deployment.
• Work within a team environment to complete daily task in the shop and/or on site.
• Attend and participate in internal and external worksite meetings.
• Attend and participate in regular training.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Emergency Response: 1 year (preferred)

• Monday-Friday office hours
• On-call 24/7/365 unless scheduled off
