Job summary

International SOS is seeking a seasoned Fire Captain to lead EMS, fire, and rescue operations across sites. The role requires coordinating drills, ensuring patient care, and maintaining equipment readiness around the clock.

You will manage onboarding of new hires, participate in ongoing safety training, and drive continuous improvement of site emergency plans in collaboration with the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• PCP Provincial License with Alberta College of Paramedics.
• NFPA 1001 lvl 2.
• NFPA 1002 Driver/Pump/Aerial Operator.
• NFPA 1021 Fire officer 1.
• NFPA 1006 High Angle/Confined Space/Vehicle & Machinery Rescue Technician.
• NFPA 1051 Wildland.
• NFPA 472 Hazmat Technician (asset but not essential).
• NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector (asset but not essential).
• NFPA 1033 Fire Investigator (asset but not essential).
• ICS 100, 200, 300
• CSTS
• WHMIS
• TDG
• Fall Protection
• Command experience
• Training experience
• Company required eLearning

Responsibilities

• Complete required reports and documentation as needed and escalation to Fire Captain & SLM.
• Prepares and leads all drills/training, inspections, and other site-related duties as assigned by the Fire Captain.
• Ensure that patients are managed in a professional and friendly manner.
• Ensure equipment and transport vehicles are ready 24/7 to undertake all services.
• Lead emergency response services in captain’s absence.
• Participate in ongoing continuing education provided by International SOS.
• Assist with the internal training program on site by preparing training sessions as requested.
• Ensure International SOS and the client are represented in a professional manner.
