Permanent Full Time

Are you prepared to lead when it matters most? The District of Squamish is hiring a permanent full-time Emergency Program Manager. This role oversees the development, review and implementation of the District’s emergency management plans, as well as play a pivotal role in the District’s Emergency Operations Centre during any incident response. This position collaborates with senior leadership and other staff across the organization to coordinate emergency management initiatives, and provides oversight to Emergency Support Services volunteers in the community.

While the position operates primarily during business hours, availability for evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities is expected, with a maximum emergency response time of 45 minutes from time of call to on-scene.

What we’re looking for: Our ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and calm leader who has a post-secondary degree with a focus on emergency management or a related discipline, and five years’ progressive experience in emergency management. If you have proven supervisory or management experience in a local government or other public sector, you might just be the next member of our Emergency Management team.
