Job summary

Colchester East Hants Health Centre (CEHHC) in Nova Scotia is seeking full- and part-time Emergency Physicians to join a Level 2 ED serving roughly 32,000 patients annually. Locum opportunities are also available. The facility offers 24/7 CT, 24/7 respiratory therapy, and a modern environment with bedside ultrasound and a new simulation lab.

Positions include full-time, part-time, or locum shifts, with 6–12 hour shifts. ATLS/ACLS/PALS and advanced airway training are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Emergency physicians with full-scope emergency medicine training.
• ATLS/ACLS/PALS and advanced airway training are required.
• Experience in high-volume ED settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-scope emergency care to patients in the northern zone.
• Adhere to Medical Staff Bylaws and report to the zone department head for professional standards.

Company Description

The Colchester East Hants Health Centre (CEHHC) is seeking full and part‑time Emergency Physicians to join their team. Locum opportunities are also immediately available. CEHHC is a beautiful modern facility with ample natural light and friendly staff. This Level 2 emergency department serves approximately 32,000 patients annually, across the life spectrum. Emergency practice is supported by a variety of specialties including internal medicine, surgery, psychiatry, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, urology, and anesthesia. CT scanning is available 24/7 as is 24/7 in house respiratory therapy. CEHHC boasts the latest in bedside technology including bedside ultrasound, video laryngoscopy, and a newly completed simulation lab. Opportunities for mixed practice (ie hospitalist/EM, family practice /EM) are also available.

• duties include full scope of practice as an emergency physician providing care to patients within the northern zone
• the physician will be responsible to the zone department head for emergency medicine for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice, and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
