Company Description

Hants Community Hospital (HCH) is a vital healthcare facility offering a wide range of services to the surrounding community. It features a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient care with 28 hospital beds, and an attached 32-bed long-term care facility. Surgical services include both general and orthopedic procedures, and the hospital is home to several specialty clinics such as obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, and hematology. A dedicated mental health team also supports the site. Located approximately 40 minutes from the IWK Health Centre and the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, HCH is well-positioned for both collaboration and patient transfers to tertiary care. Additionally, there are opportunities to engage in research and/or teaching through Dalhousie University, as well as local simulation-based education, for those interested in academic and professional development.

Job Description

Hants Community Hospital is a level 3 emergency medicine site with single provider coverage.

Hants Community Hospital is seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians to provide Locum coverage during a period of active recruitment.

Compensation is provided by the service, and locum physicians are eligible to access the travel elements of the program, including reimbursement for kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
