The Canadian Armed Forces seeks Emergency Medicine Specialists (FRCPC(EM)) to provide critical care in military operations, lead teams, and educate peers. Successful candidates will have certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and will play a vital role in both civilian and military healthcare environments.

As a member of the military, Emergency Medicine Specialists (FRCPC(EM)) are certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and belong to the Medical Specialist occupation in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
Emergency Medicine Specialists in the CAF provide specialized urgent and emergent resuscitative care in pre-hospital and hospital environments for Canadian Forces Health Services during domestic and international operations. They have leadership roles within CAF Health Services and serve as mentors and educators for military healthcare providers. Their primary responsibilities include:
Emergency Medicine Specialists maintain clinical readiness by working in larger civilian hospitals across Canada, alongside civilian colleagues. They participate in education, research, military skills training, and field exercises. Deployment to unique clinical environments may be required for domestic and international operations.
