Job description

Role and Facility Information

Live your dream in vibrant small-town BC! Are you hoping to practice Emergency Medicine at an exemplary hospital in an amazingly varied small community? The Sunshine Coast peninsula is one of BC’s most scenic regions, accessible from West Vancouver by a 40-minute ferry ride. A backdrop of the majestic Coastal Mountain Range frames a myriad of bike and cross-country skiing trails and miles of sandy beaches. The area is home to nearly 29,000 residents – concentrated around the larger town centres of Sechelt, Gibsons Landing, and Pender Harbour. This family-friendly community offers highly rated schools and area residents enjoy an idyllic mix of water and land activities.

This position is for a locum emergency physician accommodating a variety of shifts and beginning as soon as possible. Accommodation and travel remuneration is to be discussed.

Join a well-supported emergency department at a 32-bed acute care hospital serving the Sunshine Coast. The hospital provides acute surgical, medical, and obstetrical inpatient/outpatient services supported by laboratory, diagnostic imaging (including CT), and rehabilitation services. It also houses a 4-bed critical care unit.

Please note that a resume and cover letter are required to apply for this position.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all healthcare workers in publicly-funded facilities must report their past receipt of certain vaccines or infections. This information will be used to offer missing vaccines and take appropriate actions during outbreaks or exposures. All new hires will need to provide this information during onboarding.
