Responsibilities

• Work as part of the emergency medical team in a new hospital.

• Manage a variety of emergency medical situations and collaborate with pediatric, surgical, and internal medicine specialists.

About the Hospital

North Island Hospital Comox Valley is a new hospital opened in October 2017, with a 24-hour Emergency Department serving approximately 66,000 people and over 31,000 visits annually. The hospital features 153 inpatient beds and a broad range of specialties, including pediatrics, internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, and more. We are a referral center and the local trauma team, with academic affiliations with UBC and involvement in medical education.

Position Details

We welcome physicians with CCFP-EM or FRCPC Emergency certification. Opportunities exist for part-time or full-time work, with potential for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidy Agreement, including recruitment incentives, relocation support, fee premiums, CME payments, and other benefits.
