Job Description

The EMT will respond to calls for service as per dispatch instructions, providing assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons. The EMT will cover standby assignments as operations require.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP)
2. Valid Class 4 driver's license
3. Registered Paramedic (2011 National Occupational Competency Profile standards)
4. Basic Life Support Instructor Certificate (BLS)
5. International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
6. Health Care Provider Level C Certificate (HCP-C)

Competencies

1. Basic - Communication skills
2. Basic - Interpersonal skills

Knowledge and Abilities

Ability to work and communicate in a cross-cultural setting.

Other Information

1. Must be able to respond to the ambulance within 10 minutes when on-call.
2. Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level.
3. Rosetown is located approximately 117 km west of Saskatoon.
4. Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.
5. Clean Driver's Abstract.
