About the position
As an Embryologist, you will perform and be fully proficient in all clinical embryological procedures, including ICSI and micromanipulation techniques, blastocyst, oocyte, and embryo vitrification, semen analysis, sperm freezing, and use of Cryotanks. Your responsibilities include keeping track of and maintaining the databases associated with diagnostic and therapeutic treatments; complying with Anova’s quality standards and policies; conducting research; analyzing statistics; and compiling reports for the Laboratory Director. Shifts are typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and rotation on the schedule for weekends and statutory holidays is a requirement for this position. Crucially, the incumbent shares the Founder, Dr. Dixon’s passion for being the gold standard for successful reproductive health and fertility centres.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform all laboratory procedures associated with diagnostic and therapeutic treatment services, including semen analysis, media preparation, oocyte and embryo handling, gamete and embryo cryopreservation, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and embryo biopsy
- Provide quality service to patients, and convey details of treatment in clear, concise, and caring manner
- Anticipate and handle day-to-day workload and ensure that preparations and procedures are performed effectively and to highest possible standard
- Witness procedures as required by Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority to ensure correct identification of patients, gametes, and embryos
- Comply with medical care regulations and safety standards and Anova SOPs
- Maintain nitrogen storage vessels to ensure integrity of stored gametes and embryos
- Clean laboratory equipment and perform maintenance as needed
- Perform audits of all equipment to ensure correct functioning
- Collect accurate and complete data as required by Anova and CFAS/BORN Authorities
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of business information
- Assist in Andrology Service as required
- Availability for weekend and holiday rotations
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field
- At least two (2) years of experience working in Embryology laboratory, with track record of success in IVF and ICSI, caring for genetic material, and teamwork
- Excellent time management, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to discuss difficult and complex topics with patients and verify that information has been understood
- Willingness to improve skills and work as part of laboratory team
- Thoroughness and keen attention to detail
- Availability to work outside of regular business hours and participate in weekend and statutory holiday rotations
