Tasks

1. Supervise laboratory technical personnel, medical clinical personnel, graduate students, research scientists and other professionals
2. Provide advice to senior managers and officials
3. Conduct biostatistical data analysis using computer modelling techniques
4. Maintain, update and manage health information databases
5. Perform administrative tasks
6. Supervise biological technologists and technicians and other scientists
7. Compile and analyze statistical information provided by private and public health care institutions and organizations
8. Produce reports
9. Recruit and hire staff
10. Conduct research in biotechnology to discover, develop and refine, and evaluate new products
11. Conduct research into the structure and functioning of human, animal and plant tissues and cells
12. Organize conferences and meetings
13. Prepare research papers, educational texts or articles
14. Conduct interviews
15. Interpret trends and developments on health issues
16. Develop policies, standards and guidelines
17. Co-ordinate workshops
18. Produce articles to provide health information to association or organization members
19. Co-ordinate multidisciplinary projects
20. Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia
21. Monitor and compile research results
22. Offer mentoring
