Job summary

KATHY'S CUSTOM STITCHERY LTD in Canada is seeking an embroidery machine operator to read loom patterns, set up quilting frames, operate multiple embroidery and knitting machines, and repair minor mechanical issues to keep production moving.

You will monitor equipment efficiency, investigate stoppages, adjust machinery, and ensure high-quality textile outputs. Day shift with dental and vision benefits included.

Qualifications

• Experience operating embroidery or quilting machinery.
• Ability to read loom patterns and adjust settings.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting to repair minor issues.

Tasks

• Repair minor mechanical problems such as broken or defective needles
• Notify supervisor or repairers of mechanical malfunctions
• Read loom patterns and prepare loom pattern mechanisms for processing
• Verify equipment's efficiency
• Investigate machine stoppages
• Operate looms to weave yarn or thread into textile fabrics or products
• Operate machines that produce twine, ropes or nets
• Make adjustments to machinery
• Operate batteries of knitting machines to produce knitted fabric, hosiery, garment or other products
• Operate carpet tufting machines, felt making needle-punch machines and other machines to produce textile products
• Operate large automatic multi-needle machines to embroider or to sew lengths of several layers of material
• Set up quilting frames for large quilted products
• Operate cutting machines to trim edges of quilts
