Job summary

Critical Environment Technologies Canada Inc. in Delta, BC, is seeking a motivated Embedded Software Co-op to join our testing team.

You will evaluate and validate embedded software used in gas detector systems and gain hands-on experience in testing for safety-critical equipment in a collaborative environment. Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in a post-secondary Co-op in Computer/Electrical/Embedded fields, with basic knowledge of embedded systems and C/C++.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a post-secondary Co-op program in related fields (Bachelors or Masters).
• Basic knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers is required.
• Familiar with C/C++ programming languages.
• Experience with testing tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers or debuggers.
• Understanding of software development and testing lifecycle is essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are important.
• Attention to detail and quality focus essential.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Test and debug firmware and software including functional, performance and regression tests.
• Perform hardware testing to validate system behavior under varied conditions.
• Document, track, and report bugs and issues with traceability.
• Assist in setting up test environments and ensure accurate test execution.
• Create detailed test reports and maintain testing procedures for compliance.
