Job summary

SPARK Microsystems in Montreal seeks an embedded software development team lead to coordinate all activities of the embedded software department. You will plan projects, allocate resources, and guide a growing team toward delivering software features.

You will collaborate with hardware, microelectronics and test teams, participate in recruitment, and present at customer meetings while advancing best practices and technical excellence within the SPARK wireless platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering; 5 years embedded software development experience; 2 years in supervisory/management role.
• Experience with Jira or ZohoProjects.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and principles.
• Strong C programming language skills.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Understanding of I2C, I2S, SPI, UART and USB.
• Experience with code reviews, unit testing and modular design.
• Basic knowledge of analog/digital circuits and RF is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan projects and allocate resources for development.
• Hold regular meetings with the team to ensure progress.
• Establish the roadmap of software features for SPARK products.
• Collaborate with hardware, microelectronics and test teams.
• Participate in recruitment of new embedded software developers.
• Represent the department at customer meetings.
• Evolve best practices and methods used within the department.
