We are hiring an Embedded Linux Field Engineering Manager to lead a regionally-focused team of Field Engineers in Presales and Professional Services, assisting customers with solution architecture, design, and delivery.
This is a remote role, managing a team in one of three regions: Americas, EMEA, or APAC. You must be located in one of these regions to manage the respective team across multiple time zones.
Our IoT mission is to enable companies to create secure, connected devices. Canonical provides the base Ubuntu OS and kernel, with secure update and management mechanisms. Our customers develop mission-critical systems, gateways, and appliances that meet high security and quality standards. We aim to bring this security to the broader consumer electronics and device markets.
Our Field Engineers are thought leaders, helping customers solve complex problems. They are accomplished technologists with a hands-on approach to embedded Linux strategy and delivery. They are passionate about helping customers achieve technical and business goals, showcasing how Canonical’s open source approach benefits emerging edge compute fields. They also develop their colleagues’ skills and understanding of technology, customer business, and continuous improvement.
This role requires a blend of skills, including proficiency in Linux, coding and scripting, experience with low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development methodologies. Candidates should enjoy diverse client engagements, be business-focused, and pride themselves on teamwork and success.
Desirable traits include RTOS experience, additional programming and human languages, and prior remote, diverse, distributed work experience.
