  • Prepare technical drawings for components and assemblies.
  • Design test fixtures and define production test processes.
  • Develop and execute design verification and validation (DV/V) plans.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to support product procurement and resolve engineering issues.
  • Work with the engineering team to design products and manage production, ensuring timely, on-budget, and satisfactory project completion.
  • Participate in vendor qualification activities.
  • Support project hand-off to the manufacturing team.
  • Engage in new product development aligned with company strategy.
  • Conduct market research as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of system-level architecture.
  • Assist in developing project plans and customer quotations by estimating engineering effort, schedules, and project budgets.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU REQUIRE

  • Hold a BSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of ARM-based systems running FreeRTOS and embedded Linux.
  • Design systems using ARM Cortex-M and Cortex-R series microcontrollers.
  • Design systems with ARM Cortex-A microprocessors, including DDR2 and DDR3 memory.
  • Apply experience with LED lighting circuitry and battery charging systems.
  • Understand system and environmental requirements for vehicle applications.
  • Apply knowledge of CAN Bus communication protocols.
  • Define and execute component- and system-level test plans.
  • Debug electronics, perform board bring-up, and conduct low-level troubleshooting.
  • Design electronic devices/systems for transportation, agriculture, and/or construction vehicles (asset).
  • Understand and apply FMEA principles and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) guidelines.
  • Use design and verification testing methods.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Apply project management, leadership, and presentation skills (asset).
  • Work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Work independently with a strong, diligent work ethic.
  • Travel within Canada, the USA, and internationally, as required.
