Job summary

Price Electronics, a division of Price Industries, seeks an Embedded Designer to design, implement, test, and support embedded software and electronic control systems used in the DISIO HVAC and Building Automation product family.

You will work within a multidisciplinary product development team, developing firmware for microcontroller-based systems, integrating communication networks, and supporting hardware bring-up and validation activities to deliver reliable, scalable control platforms.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience developing embedded systems.
• Proficiency in C development for microcontroller-based products.
• Experience debugging embedded hardware and software systems.
• Understanding of communication protocols and networking concepts.
• Experience using source control systems such as Git.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for HVAC and Building Automation products.
• Participate in the complete product lifecycle from concept and architecture through production release and ongoing support.
• Develop and troubleshoot embedded communication networks and system integrations.
• Support hardware bring-up, product validation, and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Investigate and resolve firmware, hardware, production, and field-related issues.
• Develop test methods, automation tools, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, manufacturing, quality, and product management.

Job Summary:

The Embedded Designer is responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and support of embedded software and electronic control systems used within the DISIO family of HVAC and Building Automation products.

Working within a multidisciplinary product development team, the Embedded Designer will participate in the full product lifecycle from concept and architecture through production release and long-term support. The successful candidate will develop firmware for microcontroller-based systems, integrate communication networks, support hardware bring-up and validation activities, and contribute to reliable, maintainable, and scalable control platforms.

This role requires a strong foundation in embedded systems design, a hands‑on approach to problem solving, and effective collaboration with hardware designers, manufacturing engineers, quality personnel, and product stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for HVAC and Building Automation products.

• Participate in the complete product lifecycle from concept and architecture through production release and ongoing support.

• Develop and troubleshoot embedded communication networks and system integrations.

• Support hardware bring-up, product validation, and manufacturing readiness activities.

Preferred

• Experience with HVAC, Building Automation, or Industrial Control Systems.

• Experience with BACnet, CAN, Modbus, or similar communication protocols.

• Experience with Python, JavaScript, RPA frameworks, or other software development automation tools.

• Experience with automated testing, manufacturing test systems, or product validation.

• Experience bringing new electronic products from concept through production
