Qualifications

Performs all embalming activities of the deceased correctly and respectfully.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs all embalming activities correctly and respectfully
  • Cares for the deceased in a respectful manner while performing a variety of tasks which include: verifying identification and embalming authorization, performing restoration, completing removals and transfers, dressing, hairstyling, cosmetic application, and any other preparation as may be required.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures
  • Adheres to all professional, municipal, provincial and federal licensing requirements
  • Assists with the maintenance and cleanliness of the preparation room and facility.
  • Cleans soiled equipment and hazardous material spills and ensures all hazardous material spills are handled in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Assists with chemical and supply inventory
  • Receives caskets and other funeral home supplies
  • Promotes a safe work environment by being aware and practicing Universal Precautions and adopting general principals of safe conduct.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid Embalmers license as required by provincial law
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a licensed embalmer
  • Good communication skills
  • High level of compassion and integrity
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to multi task, set priorities and problem solve
  • Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced environment
  • Other duties as directed by management
