As an Email + SMS Account Manager at Porter Media, you'll be an integral part of our retention marketing team, managing client communications and building strategies that drive customer lifecycle value. You’ll work closely with design and copy teams to implement high-performing campaigns, oversee segmentation and reporting, and continuously optimize email and SMS efforts to help our clients grow profitably. This role is ideal for someone who is strategic, detail-oriented, and passionate about making lifecycle marketing a revenue-driving channel for brands.

What You’ll Do

  • Own Client Relationships: Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, delivering clear communication and strategic insight across all retention channels.
  • Drive Campaign Execution: Manage the full production process from idea handoff through design, copy, scheduling, segmentation, and deployment.
  • Strategize and Optimize: Lead the development of account-level strategies including A/B testing, list growth, segmentation, and lifecycle optimization.
  • Analyze and Report: Evaluate campaign performance with weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting, offering actionable insights and data-backed recommendations.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with designers, copywriters, and strategists to align messaging, timing, and tone with broader marketing initiatives.
  • Lead Innovation: Stay ahead of email and SMS marketing trends, suggesting new tactics, automations, or technologies that drive ROI.
  • Support Technical Builds: Coordinate the development of new flows, transactional messages, and unique campaign logic in tools like Klaviyo, Postscript, or Attentive.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in email marketing, with at least 1 year focused on Email + SMS strategy
  • Direct experience managing accounts and communicating with clients
  • Strong knowledge of Klaviyo and at least one SMS platform (Postscript, Attentive, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of segmentation, flows, automations, and campaign logic
  • Experience collaborating with creative teams to bring messaging to life
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with project management tools like ClickUp is a plus

  • Client Performance: Consistently meet or exceed client retention KPIs across email and SMS.
  • Strategic Execution: Implement effective testing strategies and automation flows.
