Job summary

SGS is seeking an experienced Coating/Painting & Welding Inspector as an independent contractor. The role involves monitoring coatings, performing inspections in shops and challenging field environments, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Travel may be required with expenses covered when applicable. Applicants must hold NACE Level 2 and CWB Level 2 certifications and bring at least seven years of relevant inspection experience, including QA or vendor surveillance.

Qualifications

• Must hold NACE Level 2 and CWB Level 2 certifications.
• Seven+ years coating/painting & welding inspections experience.
• Three+ years in QA/vendor surveillance/shop inspections.

Responsibilities

• Monitor surface preparation and coating applications on steel, concrete, and other substrates.
• Inspect coatings in shops and field environments (oil & gas, petrochemical, marine, bridges).
• Witness NDE tests and verify results; record inspection results and non-conformities.
