Elementary Teacher Physical Education / Wellness Teacher Temporary / Probationary Maternity Leave Coverage Position Dates: August 25, 2025, to June 30, 2026

Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Elementary Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to create an engaging classroom environment, have a strong commitment to student learning and be inspired by teaching young learners from a Christ centred point of view. This role involves planning and creatively delivering Alberta curriculum-aligned lessons that cater to diverse learning styles while building a supportive and collaborative classroom community.

Duties
  • Demonstrate alignment with Airdrie Christian Academy's (ACA) mission and vision
  • Responsible for preparing engaging differentiated lesson plans and executing them with excellence
  • Courses include but not limited to Elementary PE, and Wellness, Drama (Grades 4 – 6), and other programs
  • Keep an organized, tidy and orderly classroom that promotes learning
  • Create a safe and respectful classroom environment that supports the academic and social development of all students
  • Assess student progress using approved assessment tools
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and support student success
  • Collaborate with other Teachers and staff to support student learning
  • Participate in various staff meeting, professional development and other extra-curricular activities
  • Adheres to applicable policies and procedures
  • Supports wider school program and activities
  • Reports directly to the Principal
Qualifications/Conditions
  • Education Degree
  • Valid Teachers Certificate
  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must have a police record check with vulnerability screening on file prior to starting employment
  • Must align with the mission and vision of ACA
Hours Of Work

Approx. 0.67 FTE (Weekdays and timings – to be determined)
