Job summary

The Near North District School Board is hiring a 1.0 Temporary Child Development Counsellor for the West Region, serving Parry Sound and surrounding communities. Reporting to the Mental Health Lead, the role focuses on promoting student well-being and social-emotional skills for grades K-8.

Responsibilities include classroom-based and small group sessions, individualized interventions as needed, and collaboration with families, school staff, and community agencies to support learning readiness

Qualifications

• Experience addressing behavioural and social-emotional needs of students.
• Ability to deliver manualized, evidence-informed classroom and small-group programs.
• Counselling to support well-being and learning readiness.
• Collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team and with families/community agencies.
