Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, classroom materials, and providing instruction in specialized subject areas such as music, art, science, computer operations, media center usage, physical education, languages, and health.

Description

This classified position is open to all qualified applicants. Applications must be submitted by Monday, July 7, 2025. The position offers 3.7 hours per day, 174 days per year, with a salary grade of 6 at $19.60 per hour (2025-26 Support Salary Table). Promotions may result in a minimum increase of 5%. Hours are approximate.

General Function: Under supervision, teaches classes and supervises students during teacher preparation periods. Prepares lesson plans and classroom materials, providing instruction in specialized subjects such as music, art, science, computer operations, media center usage, physical education, and languages.

Educational Requirements:

• High school graduation or equivalent education/experience.
• Preferred: Formal education or training in the specialized area.
• Must meet one of the following: two years (48 semester hours) of higher education, an associate's degree, or pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test (to be taken at a later date).

Knowledge & Ability:

• Knowledge of assigned subject areas.
• Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with students, teachers, and staff.
• Ability to teach assigned subjects effectively.

Job-Related Experience:

• None required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
