Job summary

Oxford Learning Niagara Falls is seeking part-time Teacher-Tutors to work with Elementary and High School students in our Niagara Falls learning centre. You will teach reading, writing, math, French, and science topics with pre-planned lessons and supportive supervision.

Responsibilities include guiding up to three students at once, using Oxford Learning methods, and providing daily updates and monthly progress reports. In-person role requiring commute to the centre.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
• Experience teaching/tutoring K–12 level.
• Strong English written and oral communication; French ability is a plus.

If you love working with students, enjoy teaching language skills, and want to help others build their academic confidence, this position is perfect for you.

Position Overview: As a Teacher-Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will have the opportunity to work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math and French and/or withHigh Schoolstudents inmath (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. Our Teacher-Tutors do not have to worry about lesson planning, as all lessons are pre-planned. You will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods, allowing you to focus on what you do best – teaching!

Position Requirements

• Availability during after-school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm) Monday through Friday and Saturday 9am - 12pm
• Commitmentthrough tothe end of the school year (June 30th), with thepossibility ofcontinuing through the summer.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Third-year university students with tutoring experience will be considered

Experience:

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• The ability to teach French is also highly desired
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

As an Interactive Coach, you will:

• Teach up to 3 students at a time
• Teach up to 3 students at a time in Elementary grades
• Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Complete daily student communication updates and monthly progress reports
• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanour at all times (create a fun learning environment)
