Job summary

Oxford Learning Niagara Falls is seeking part-time Teacher-Tutor to work with Elementary and High School students in reading, writing, math and sciences. Lessons are pre-planned; you will be trained in our philosophy and methods to focus on teaching. In-person role with after-school hours in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or be a third-year student with tutoring experience. Strong English communication is required; ability to teach French is a plus.

Elementary & High School English Teacher/Tutor

Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario

Employment Type: Casual Part Time

Pay: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour

Oxford Learning Niagara Falls is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for roles in our learning centre for the current/upcoming school year. If you love working with students, enjoy teaching language skills, and want to help others build their academic confidence, this position is perfect for you.

Position Overview

As a Teacher-Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will have the opportunity to work with Elementary students in reading, writing, math and French and/or with High School students in math (through Calculus), physics, chemistry, biology, and English. Our Teacher-Tutors do not have to worry about lesson planning, as all lessons are pre-planned. You will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods, allowing you to focus on what you do best – teaching!

Position Requirements

• Availability during after-school and evening hours (3:00 pm - 8:00 pm) Monday through Friday and Saturday 9am - 12pm
• Commitment through to the end of the school year (June 30th), with the possibility of continuing through the summer.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Third-year university students with tutoring experience will be considered

Experience

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 12 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
• The ability to teach French is also highly desired
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
