Job Description

The Electronics Tester will play a crucial role in our quality assurance team, under the mentorship of our Quality Assurance Lead. This role is ideal for individuals who are deeply passionate about audio/video consumer electronics, enjoy hands-on testing, and are keen on uncovering the smallest of issues that could impact user experience.

Your primary role will involve executing testing protocols, uncovering edge cases to maximize test coverage, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our product line.

Responsibilities
  • Execute detailed testing protocols as developed by the Quality Assurance Lead and provide feedback for improving those.
  • Identify, document, and explore potential edge cases that are not covered by existing protocols.
  • Operate electronic test tools, measurement devices, and diagnostic equipment to conduct performance and reliability tests.
  • Inspect, test, and monitor electrical and electronic systems to diagnose malfunctions and verify product performance.
  • Develop essential test plans and procedures from product hardware and software requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the QA Lead to review test results and develop new testing strategies.
  • Engage with the product in creative ways to uncover hidden issues that could affect consumer satisfaction.
  • Test integration with streaming and connectivity technologies (e.g., Google Cast, Spotify, Apple AirPlay).
  • Verify decoding quality of audio formats (Dolby Atmos, DTS:X) and performance across multiple device configurations (TVs, gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, speaker setups).
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to resolve identified issues and implement solutions.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment as required.
Product Features You’ll Be Testing
  • Out-of-the-box experience, initial product set-up and configuration
  • Handling of input switching, power mode change and long-term reliability of products
  • Quality of integration of streaming services: Google Cast, Spotify, and Apple AirPlay
  • Quality of decoding of surround audio formats, such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
  • Responsiveness of the product to control commands
  • Seamless experience when controlling the product through WebUI, Mobile app, IR remote and physical controls
  • Configuration compatibility, guaranteeing the product performs consistently well across a wide range of external devices and setups, including various TVs, gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, and all possible speaker configurations
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • A keen interest in consumer electronics, especially audio and AV products
  • A curious and innovative mindset, always looking to explore and understand how things work
  • Experience with Apple AirPlay, Google Cast and Spotify
  • Diligent and meticulous in following through on testing protocols, documenting test results and writing detailed bug reports with guidance on how to reproduce the bugs
  • Possesses a "hacker" mentality, with a knack for thinking outside the box to identify potential product vulnerabilities
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Formal education in electronics or related fields is a plus but not a requirement. We value practical skills and a passionate interest in electronics more than traditional academic achievements
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with electronic test tools and soldering equipment is a significant asset
  • Able to adapt to changing requirements and tasks at a moment's notice
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in one of the Office suites
  • Proficiency working in different operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS and Android) is a significant asset
  • Able to communicate effectively in English
