Job Description
The Electronics Specialist is responsible for maintaining electronic postal equipment, including troubleshooting, testing, repair, and monitoring of electronic and electromechanical systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electronic and electro-mechanical postal equipment, including testing, diagnosis, cleaning, lubrication, adjustment, and repair.
- Read schematics and wiring diagrams to locate malfunctions and failures.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and investigate serious equipment failures.
- Manage work orders, estimate time and materials, and ensure safety practices are followed.
- Maintain documentation in the Computerized Maintenance Management system.
- Use various tools, gauges, and test equipment for maintenance activities.
- Support inventory management and participate in training programs.
- Perform additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year post-secondary program in electronics or related field; DEC in Quebec.
- At least two years of recent experience in electronic systems maintenance or a relevant diploma.
Other Requirements
- Must meet language requirements.
- Understanding of electronic systems, mechanical principles, and safety practices.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in challenging environments.
- Proficiency with Windows, MS Office, and diagnostic tools.
