Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group in Victoria, BC, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support electronics manufacturing, testing, packing, and project shipments. The role combines hands-on assembly, soldering, and ERP-driven material management with coordination of shipments and returns in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist R&D and production teams, contribute to quality improvements, and maintain inventory integrity.

Qualifications

• College diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical diploma or a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or similar preferred.
• Detail-oriented and organized with accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to lift 20 lb repeatedly and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned production work orders in a timely manner.
• Assemble, program, test, label, and package manufactured devices.
• Perform soldering (SMD and through-hole) and light mechanical tasks.
• Troubleshoot devices and carry out repairs and field rework.
• Configure paging equipment and program pagers to requirements.
• Track defect rates and production records for quality improvement.
• Assist with PCB/firmware design review and test documentation.
• Enter project material lists and change forms into ERP system.
• Manage daily shipping schedule and project shipments.
