Job summary

ABB in Quebec City is seeking an electronics engineering intern to contribute to analysis and improvements of printed circuit boards in our Measurement and Analysis segment. You will help optimize tools and processes to reduce costs, improve quality, and meet delivery deadlines under supervision.

You will support production engineering and QA, document repairs, and serve as a technical resource in electrical engineering.

Qualifications

  • College or technical studies in electronic engineering or a related field.
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written. French is required.
  • English is also required to communicate with clients outside Quebec.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Test, diagnose, repair and document repairs to electronic circuit boards requiring technical expertise.
  • Participate in problem analysis and implementation of corrective solutions with continuous improvement teams.
  • Provide daily support to production engineering and quality assurance to ensure compliant deliveries per quality standards.
  • Serve as a technical resource in electrical engineering.
  • Contribute to development and updating of maintenance plans for production equipment.
  • Develop new work methods and tools and train team members on how to use them.

Under the supervision of our production engineering methods technician, you will help optimize production tools, processes, and deliverables to reduce costs, improve quality, and meet delivery deadlines.You will be mainly accountable forTest, diagnose, repair, and document repairs to electronic circuit boards that require our technical expertise.Participate in problem analysis and the implementation of corrective solutions with the continuous improvement teams.Provide daily support to production engineering and quality assurance to ensure continuous, compliant deliveries in accordance with our quality standards.Serve as a technical resource in your field of electrical engineering.Contribute to the development and updating of maintenance plans for production equipment.Develop new work methods and tools and train team members on how to use them.Qualifications for the roleCollege or technical studies in electronic engineering or a related field.Good command of English, both spoken and written. French is required.
