Purpose of Role: As part of the instrumentation and control electronics department, the electronic engineer under the supervision of the Instrumentation and control supervisor will be responsible for providing technological solutions and systems to respond to all the testing and evaluation needs of the Canadian Navy.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations, Special Skills:

Eligible to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance, which requires Canadian citizenship and 10 years of residence in Canada (MANDATORY). Please note all offers of employment are conditional upon obtaining a government of Canada security clearance to the level required by the function. The candidate must be a Canadian citizen and have lived in Canada for a minimum of 10 consecutive years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate 100% commitment to safety and our zero harm culture.
  • Apply broad knowledge of general Electronic Engineering.
  • Design solutions for navy testing and validation needs.
  • Understand and analyze electronic circuits, control, and automation systems.
  • Design and validate electronic measurement and control systems.
  • Perform trials and analyze test data in-house and in the field.
  • Produce/test plans, documentation, and schematics.
  • Write technical reports and test documents in English.
  • Manage projects from start to finish successfully.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Equivalent education and experience considered, capable of performing the above objectives.
  • Electrical Engineering with a generalist approach.
  • Strong hardware/software electronic understanding and analysis skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Manual dexterity for test rigs, soldering, and working with prototypes.
  • Responsible, proactive, and client-focused.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
