Job summary

Safariland seeks an Electronics Designer to join our product development group. The role covers electronics design, documentation, prototype assembly, troubleshooting and sustaining engineering for life-saving products used worldwide.

The successful candidate will be an inventive problem solver, capable of addressing technical challenges, communicating with customers and vendors, and delivering robust subsystems and interfaces within a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Electronics engineering degree required.
• At least 5 years in electronics engineering roles.
• Strong English writing and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
• Experience with SMT assembly (4+ years).
• 4+ years analog/digital design, testing, and measurement.
• 4+ years experience with electronics supply chain issues.
• Eligible for Canadian Secret-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead project technical tasks and ensure design objectives.
• Represent the company in customer-facing technical discussions.
• Analyze product specs, schematics and requirements.
• Design and build electronic subsystems and interfaces.
• Test and troubleshoot electronic systems and firmware.
• Document designs and release specifications.
• Sourcing components and generating PO requests.
• Maintain lab facilities and equipment maintenance.
