Job summary

Motorola Solutions Canada is seeking an electronics design engineer co‑op in Vancouver to join a multidisciplinary team developing next‑gen high‑performance video solutions. You’ll support embedded media processors and FPGAs, work on DDR SDRAM, CMOS sensors, and power supplies, and help test and iterate circuit boards.

• Enrollment in an accredited university undergraduate or Masters program.
• Hands-on testing and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong soldering abilities and practical electronics skills.
• Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits; ability to optimize designs.

Responsibilities

• Design of electronic circuits using EDA tools and SPICE simulators.
• Electrical and thermal testing of cameras and boards.
• Build and test of first revisions of PCBs; debug and iterate.
• Create and maintain design docs, BOMs, and assembly trees.
• Estimate tasks and track progress and costs.

For the duration of your work term, you will be a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team responsible for the design and implementation of the next generation of Motorola’s market-leading high-performance video solutions products.You will work with:Support circuitry for embedded media processors and FPGAsHigh-speed digital signaling involving DDR SDRAM, Ethernet, and CMOS image sensorsHigh-speed, low-noise analog signal conditioningHigh-speed clock driver design for image sensorsHigh-efficiency power supply designDigital and analog control loopsElectro-mechanical control and drive circuitry and microcontroller-based subsystemsYour ability to work productively with vendors, manufacturing personnel, programmers and designers from other disciplines is essential.
