Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Vancouver, BC is seeking an experienced Electronics Designer to develop and validate PCBAs and high-speed digital/power circuits. You will collaborate with mechanical, firmware, purchasing and testing teams to advance secure surveillance technologies.

The role requires a hands-on approach, strong problem-solving ability, and excellent communication within a multi-disciplinary team. On-site work in Greater Vancouver area with regular office presence.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in electronic design or validation.
  • Hands-on soldering, prototyping and test equipment use.
  • Pragmatic problem solving with ability to improvise.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Developing innovative products alongside mechanical, firmware, purchasing and testing teams
  • Designing high-speed digital and power supply circuits including component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation
  • Testing, characterizing, analyzing, and troubleshooting electronic PCBAs and systems
  • Rapid prototyping and testing of new circuit ideas using workbench tools and test equipment
  • Designing and testing for compliance with EMC and safety regulations
  • Supporting production and products in the field
  • Creating and maintaining PCB design files, JIRA tickets, design and test documentation, and bills of materials

This position is based in Vancouver, BC and the candidate must reside in the Greater Vancouver Area as they will be required to work in the office anywhere from 2 - 5 days per week as projects require.
