Job summary

General Fusion Inc. seeks a Senior Electronics Engineer to join the Controls & Electronics team at our Richmond, BC facility. Lead analog/digital design and sensor interfacing for the LM26 pulsed-power machine, guiding hardware development from concept to release and mentoring engineers.

The candidate should have 10+ years in R&D electronics, strong grounding/shielding expertise, and proven ability to navigate complex, noisy measurement environments with a focus on safe lab practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 10+ years in R&D, scientific, or industrial electronics.
• Experience maintaining measurement integrity in hostile environments.
• Expertise in analog conditioning and high-speed digitization.
• Experience leading design reviews and mentoring engineers.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium).
• Ability to make design decisions with incomplete information.
• Strong technical documentation and cross-disciplinary communication.
• Commitment to safe lab practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as electronics group's technical authority on analog/digital design and measurement methodology.
• Architect, design, and commission signal chains for noisy high-voltage environments.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation performance during experiments.
• Define grounding, shielding, and isolation practices including fibre-optic links.
• Own hardware development lifecycle from requirements to release.
• Lead design reviews and establish review standards.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Translate cross-disciplinary requirements into electronic solutions.
• Document designs, calibration procedures, and test results.
