Candidates must hold an Electronic Technology or Engineering Degree and have 1+ years of relevant experience. Qualifications

  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen, and Background / Pre-Employment Screening Checks.

LOCATION : Offshore Newfoundland, Canada

JOB SUMMARY : Electronic Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and computer-based control systems.

PRE-REQUISITES / QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Electronic Technology or Engineering Degree
  • 1+ years of experience as an Electronic Technician on 6th Generation Ultra-Deepwater Semi-Submersible or similar installation
  • Previous High Voltage and Low Voltage Experience
  • Hazardous Area Equipment Training or Equivalent
  • Experience on Thruster DP 3 operation is preferred
  • Previous offshore experience
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams. Proficient in using electrical testing meters and equipment. Able to operate software applications relevant to the position.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen, and Background / Pre-Employment Screening Checks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Daily operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of the computer, instrumentation, and communication systems of the rig to ensure its proper operation.
  2. Ensure the technical system and its associated electrical equipment comply with regulations.
  3. Maintain a maintenance log and prepare reports on the technical systems. Carry out and report maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance program and notify the supervisor of any modifications.
  4. Keep the work area, tools, and parts clean and in good repair.
  5. Order, through the immediate superior, any required spare parts for planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs.
  6. Ensure all work on electrical installations is performed following safety regulations, technical standards, and procedures. Maintain a proactive approach to electronic safety.
  7. Identify and report any non-compliance issues immediately to the supervisor.
  8. Perform all work safely and professionally, actively participate in safety meetings and other relevant meetings.
  9. Perform emergency duties as per the unit's emergency organization.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
